For instance, Google and Facebook job search return a ranked list of jobs given a search query. On the other hand, TaskRabbit and Fiverr produce rankings of workers for a given query. Qapa, an online shopping complex, can be used to rank both workers and jobs. In this paper, we introduce a single framework of fairness to study ranking workers and jobs. We case study two specific sites: Google Job Search and TaskRabbit.
We show how our framework works under group fairness for groups built by any possible combination of protected attributes.
